Back in the days when I was a young boy I remember on Saturday mornings waking up and turning on the TV watching the morning cartoons. That was one of the best times in life because things are so simple. There was no stress in the world and nothing to worry about.
But still one of the best Saturday mornings that I remember is the first time I watched Dragon Ball Z. That was the time I learned about anime without actually knowing what anime was. I was just a totally different vibe from regular cartoons.
This start led me to learning more about anime at such a young age. I then learned about the anime Naruto and then so on and so forth.
Now I know that at a young age I was only watching anime because of the fighting that went on in the shows. If the fighting was not good I did not want to watch it, but as I got older and continue to watch I try to for a lot of things in anime. What is the plot? What is the problem being presented? Is the character development good? This honestly has helped me a lot in my own writing, because I try and ask these same questions.
I am not saying that watching anime is going to make you a better writer. No, I am not trying imply that at all. Instead I am saying that something that I found to enjoy also helps me in other parts of my life in a way. Take those things you enjoy in life and find ways to apply them.
Anime has been a stress reliever and a life teacher for me. All because of one Saturday morning.
